Painted and decorated skulls are part of the Siberian and the European tradition for centuries. Stuck on poles (nidstang) to curse or keep people of the land and in Tuva, called Ulug Eeren, a fierce protector of the house, familie or surrounding lands. This skull is from a calf and painted by Izih Deer Kam. Its decoration brings protection from the Sky and ancestors. You can hang this skull in front of your door and give it some smoke now and then, aswell as some ribbons by grateful guests.
