Nice alpaca metal figurine depicting Krishna and his consort Radha. Their eternal, divine love story is a much beloved theme in all kinds of Hinduist art expressions, and together they are worshipped in many temples and during many festivals in their divine combination as Radha-Krishna.

The symbolism of the bond between Krishna and Radha can be explained on many levels.

As a Hinduist mythological story, which can be found in for example the Bhagavata Purana, it tells about how a young Krishna lived among the cowherds, where the gopi (milkmaid) Radha fell in love with him and they have been together ever since. This story speaks about how deep love and devotion forms an unbreakable relationship between a human (Radha) and God (Krishna). Radha can be seen as a representation of the human soul, that longs to merge with the divine.

On another level, Radha can be seen as a representation of the divine feminine herself. She is a personification of the supreme goddess Shakti, the female, creative energy that inspires the movement to the pure consciousness of the masculine divine principle represented by Krishna. They complement and balance each other in an eternal cosmic dance.

This is a back-less, flat statue, ideal to be used at the rear of an altar or if you have only a very small space for it. As can be seen on the pictures, the decoration is not of especially high quality, but of course it's still a very nice figurine to use as a focal point on your altar or during meditative practices. Sizes; 12,5 centimeters high, 6,8 centimeters wide and 2,3 centimeters deep. Weight is 96 grams.
