Amber bead necklace

Amber is one of the most beloved gemstones in the world, though actually the word 'stone' of course isn't correct here, because amber is the hardened resin of the pine tree. The value of amber only increases with age; the older it gets, the more valuable, with completely fossilized amber sometimes being very expensive.

All through Europe, amber has been considered a sacred material, connected to the Sun and lifeforce.

This necklace has been made with more recent amber beads, with tibetan silver beadcaps on both ends (serving not only a decorative function, but also to prevent the beads from getting damaged by grinding to each other).
