In traditional shamanism, bells are used for many purposes, because they can serve as houses for spirits and their sound represents the voice of those spirits.
These beautiful, antique bells were taken from an old belt from a Mongolian shaman. They feature a very detailed, high relief depiction of a fierce bull on both sides.
The symbolism of the bull holds slightly different meanings in different traditions, but overall it can be said they are seen as very strong protectors and guardians against demons, evil spirits and other negative influences. They are highly regarded as being strong, stable animals, showing great stamina and the power to defend their territory if necessary.
These bells are quite big and heavy. They can be used as ritual attributes in itself, be used as protective amulets or for that purpose be sewn on your ritual costume or attributes.
These bells have a diameter of approximately 58 millimeters (measured without the eyelet). They weigh between 130 - 140 grams each. They are made of bronze, which has been covered with a beautiful dark patina over time. Due to their age and previous usage, of course some little 'imperfections' might be there.
