Antique Nepalese shamanic headdress
Antique Nepalese shamanic headdress

Very old headdress piece from a West-Nepalese shaman. The headdress consists of a cotton fabric base, decorated around the edges with a double row of kauri shells and woolen strands in different bright colors (this color usage is usually done to represent a connection with the different elements). Into the fabric some porcupine quills and feathers from local farm birds have been inserted.
As can be seen on the pictures, this piece is very fragile and has a lot of damage to it already. Therefore we strongly advice you; if you are planning to wear it 'as-is' or make it into an integral part of your own headdress, please thoroughly restore and reinforce it before doing so.
But of course this piece can also be used in many other ways, like placing it on your altar or sewing it on some other fabric and hanging it on your wall. Or maybe even framing it into a nice 3D picture frame.
One way or another, this headdress is something very unique to add to your collection of ritual attributes and connects your personal practice (through decades of time and miles of distance) with the practice of this Nepalese shaman.
