Old wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved and with some imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage. As can be seen on the detail pictures, a little chip of the wood in the middle area has come off, but of course this phurba is still ready to do the work.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a three-faced Vajrakilaya, with three different facial expressions; joyful, wrathful and peaceful. Handle: a combination of a vajra (dorje) and shrivatsa (endless knot) symbols. Blade: intertwined naga's facing upwards and some trident, sun and moon symbols.
This antique phurba has a length of 26 centimeters and weighs 75 grams.
