Antique wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved and with some imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage. Please look closely at the pictures to observe the condition of this item; there is a lengthwise crack on this one. But this is a stable one, the phurba is not fragile because of it. This phurba has a sharp pointed tip, covered with metal, making it easier to stick it in the ground.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a three-faced Vajrakilaya, with three different facial expressions; joyful, wrathful and peaceful. And above the three-faced deity, on top of the phurba, also a typical Nepalese anestral guardian figurine can be seen. Handle: a vajra (dorje) symbol. Blade: an abstract representation of the mythical watermonster Makara and some sun & moon symbols.
This wooden phurba is a somewhat bigger and heavier one; it has a length of 35 centimeters and weighs 151 grams.
