Antique wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved and with some imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage, most noteable of which is a damage to one of the faces. And this one probably has once had some extra decoration or figurine on top of the pommel, which unfortunately has got lost over time.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a four-faced Vajrakilaya, with different facial expressions.
Handle: a vajra (dorje) symbol.
Blade: an abstract representation of the mythical watermonster Makara, meticulously carved with a lot of different symbolism.
This phurba has a length of 26 centimeters and weighs 109 grams.
Read more about the general and specific design and symbolism of the phurba in the general description of this webshop-collection.
