Antique wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved in an authentic, rustique style and with some imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage, but overall still in good condition.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: this one shows a five-faced human head, representing the 'mahabhuta' (five elements) Handle: a combination of vajra (dorje) and shrivatsa (endless knot) symbolism. Blade: an abstract representation of the mythical watermonster Makara.
This phurba has a length of 25 centimeters and weighs 102 grams.
