Very old wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved in an authentique, rustique style. Please look closely at the pictures to observe the condition of this item; it shows some imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a three-sided representation of a typical Nepalese 'namaskara mudra' figurine; an ancestral guardian figurine with the hands folded in either praying or greeting position. On top of these three, yet another namaskara mudra figurine can be seen, this one riding an animal (unfortunately unknown, because of the animal's head being damaged). Handle: a vajra (dorje) symbol. Blade: intertwined naga's facing upwards.
This phurba has a length of 25 centimeters and weighs 63 grams.
