Antique wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved, with some minor imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage, but overall still in good condition and with a beautiful dark, glossy patina. This one has a beautiful warm brown color and a glossy patina.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a three-faced Vajrakilaya, with three different facial expressions; joyful, wrathful and peaceful. And on top of the three-headed deity also the figurine of an animal can be seen; most likely a lion, representing power, protection, courage and victory. Handle: a vajra (dorje) symbol in between some variations of the shrivatsa (endless knot) symbol. Blade: intertwined naga's facing upwards.
This phurba has a length of 22 centimeters and weighs 46 grams.
