Old wooden phurba from Nepal. Artisan handcarved and with some minor imperfections and damages due to its age and previous usage, but overall still in very good condition.
Design characteristics:
Pommel; a three-faced Vajrakilaya, with three different facial expressions; joyful, wrathful and peaceful. And on top of the three-faced deity, a typical Nepalese 'namaskara mudra' figurine riding an elephant can be seen.
Handle: a depiction of the vajra (dorje) symbol in between some variations of the shrivatsa (endless knot) symbol.
Blade: intertwined naga's facing upwards and sun & moon symbols.
This antique phurba has a length of 29 centimeters and weighs 71 grams.
