The use of high quality butter and ghee (as an even more outstanding derivative from butter) as an offering to the benevolent spirits is something that can be found in many different (spiritual) traditions all over the Eurasian continent. This custom can be dated back many centuries, and is nowadays still a very common one.
Also in the tradition of Spirit of Wolf, the use of ghee as an offering is a very important one. It is for example the special offering to the Mother of Fire. During our personal daily rituals, or sessions with clients, there's always a ghee lamp burning on our altar to honor her and other spirits. And when performing our fire rituals, large amounts of good quality ghee are given into the fire as an offering. Also our spirit dolls, shamanic mirrors and ritual attributes are fed with ghee on a regular basis.
Here at SeaWolf Shop we offer you ghee lamps in differents styles and sizes. This one is a 'chula' style ghee lamp; used by putting a wick in the middle of the cup (in the small hole) and then filling it up with ghee.
This nicely decorated lamp is made of red copper, with a brass middle-part and brass decorations from the Tibetan Auspicious Symbols. It is 145 millimeters high and 95 millimeters in diameter (measured at the broadest part at the top). As can be seen on the pictures, there are some minor imperfections to the decoration, but overall it looks very nice.
