Fox vertebra with old beeswax amber bead and endless knot amulet necklace
Fox vertebra with old beeswax amber bead and endless knot amulet necklace
Share
Amulet necklace made with a vertebra from a dutch red fox. The vertebra is combined with an old Tibetan bead from 'beeswax amber', a name commonly used in Asian gem markets for yellow (often Baltic) amber with a semi-translucent, opalescent, milky and somewhat greasy appearance.
This type of amber is highly valued in Tibetan jewelry, because it is considered to be one of the Seven Treasures (or Gems) of Buddhism. For centuries, beeswax has been used by different Buddhist traditions as an offering to the Buddha and to consecrate holy relics. Beeswax is a symbol of unity, purity, secular wealth (by not taking more than is necessary and feeling satisfied by that) and the Tibetan religious beliefs.
Also a Tibetan silver pendant with the symbol of an endless knot has been added. The endless knot is an important symbol in Buddhism and Hinduism, but can also be found in many other (spiritual) traditions
Other items used in this necklace are: vintage glass beads, taken from old necklaces, and black waxcord. The necklace closes with a simple lobster-style jewelry clasp.
A unique and of course also very decorative item to connect you with the spirit of Fox. Handmade by Chyltys Kam. Only one available.
