Goat hide and roe deer antler rattle
Goat hide and roe deer antler rattle
Share
Rattle made with goat hide, acquired as scrap material from an artisan drum maker. The hide used for this rattle is a very thin, semi-transparant part; when held up to the light, you can see the filling of the rattle (see the little film in which this is demonstrated)
The rattle is constructed with an antler from a dutch roe deer deer as handle. This antler has been found in the Dutch Veluwe-region and had probably been lying there for a long time already; you can see how it's complety sun-bleached and sun-dried. It is filled with organic buckwheat, giving it a nice heavy feel and sound.
The rattle is decorated with a braid, made with 3 strands of petrol colored suede-leather. During the braiding, only the best of intentions and blessings were put in.
Total length of this rattle is 21 centimeters. It weighs 92 grams.
Handmade by Chyltys Kam. Every rattle is a unique item.
