Runes are a very important part of our magical European heritage. No one knows for sure the deep secrets of the runes and no modern book is often accurate on their meaning except the old lore from the sagas. Runes in Dutch were called "ruin" and they mean "Whisper" and "secret". Runes were put on attributes, carved and inket with blood to bring them alive. Magical tools but also important everyday working tools such as knives and axes. They were combined to make runic binds and staves and live on in old Dutch familymarks and gravemarks. There exist the oldest known runic "alphabet" called "futhark" and there are also the younger alphabets called the Anglo-Saxon Runes and the Frisian runes.
This set is the old futhark. It is engraved on handforged steel and magically made alive by song and made golden. They come in a wooden box. They can be used as Oracle or to place them on the altar or on the body and sing them.
There is no book with them so you need to find your own, we strongly recommend Lars Magnar Enoksen his book "The History of Runic Lore" which goes back to the original sources.
