For thousands of years, hematite has been known and used all over the world as a stone with very strong healing properties.
The name 'hematite' literally means 'bloodstone; it is derived from the Greek words 'haema' (blood) and 'lithos' (stone). This intriguing name comes from the fact that hematite contains a lot of iron, which of course rusts when coming into contact with water, giving the water used during the polishing of the stones a blood-red color.
For this reason, hematite has for centuries been used for treating all kinds of issues with the blood, from bleeding wounds on the battlefields, to anemia, infections and even the 'typical womens disease' hysteria.
Next to these medical uses, hematite was also highly regarded as a protective amulet and talisman stone. In ancient Engyptian graves for example scarab-amulets made of hematite were found and all through the Middle Ages hematite has been used in jewelry, rosaries and figurines. Not only beacuse of its shining beauty, but also because of its assumed protective qualities against the evil eye and witchcraft.
Nowadays hematite is still highly valued as a supportive and healing stone. It brings grounding, self-confidence, strength and courage. It protects against radiation aswell as against heavy energies in general.
These bracelets are made from beautiful and good quality hematite. Wear one for example when doing rituals or when you are feeling low on energy and vulnerable.
Be careful with wearing hematite when having heavy inflammation and when pregnant.
These hematite bracelets come to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar. They are sold per piece.
