Nice pendant with on one side the depiction of a dragon and on the other side a phoenix, carved in a piece of jade, with a color varying from light to darker green.
The dragon & phoenix motive became very popular during the Chinese Liao Dynasty (907-1125). The combination symbolizes the perfect balance of opposite yet complementing forces; the masculine and feminine, yin and yang, water and fire, power and grace. Together they symbolize duality, balance and harmony. The motive is especially used to bring balance and protection to the family, familyhome and marriage.
Please note; this pendant is from vintage origin and unfortunately has a damage with a crack at the hole, so please look closely at the pictures to observe the condition of this item. To prevent it from further splitting (and in the worst case, falling off and getting lost), it might be best not to actively wear this item as a piece of personal jewelry 'as-is'. Instead use it for eaxmple as a nice piece on your altar. Or of course be creative, and wrap it in some jewelry setting to turn it into a wearable item again.
