Loose incense powder consisting of 100% pure Himalayan high-altitude juniper (juniperus recurva). This specific type of juniper originates in the high mountaineous area's of the Himalaya's, where it grows between 3000-4000 metres high.

For traditional Nepalese shamans, this is one of the most extensively used and highly preferred incenses, which can be used both pure, or in a mix combined with other incense materials. Being one of the main (if not; The main) incense materials, it's local name is actually interchangeable with the word for 'incense' itself; both are referred to as 'dhoop' or 'dhupi'.

Juniper powder is used in multiple ways. Blended into a mix together with ghee, it is for example considered an excellent offering to the spirits. And as a travelling herb, its thick smoke is said to create a bridge to the other worlds.

This juniper incense comes to us from Kathmandu, where it has been carefully selected on its high quality. It is sold in waxed paper bags with a content of approximately 30 grams (125 milliliters).

Loose incense powder such as this one can be burned on charcoals (which would be the traditional way) or in a sieve-burner.
