Very nice vintage gazelle horn pendant, made in India. Pendants like these were quite popular in the 1970's. They were worn in different ways; hanging as a single piece on a necklace or attached to a handbag. Or sometimes combined with the matching horn, as a set of two attached to each other at the tips, and worn in a somewhat torque-style necklace.
The gazelle horn has been polished smoothly and set in a brass cap at both sides. Both of the brass caps are equipped with an eyelet, making this a very versatile pendant. As can be seen on the pictures, the previous owner attached a simple piece of cotton on the top side and a metal chain with a brass hook on the bottom. Both hanging equipments are not in good condition anymore, so we would advice to take them off and use something that suits your own purposes instead.
Being from vintage origin, this pendant shows some signs of its age and previous usage, most noteable of which is that there are some oxidation spots on the brass cap at the top. But overall still in good and wearable condition.
Sizes; the horn is approximately 14 centimeters long and 2 centimeters in diameter (measured at the top).
