Old metal yak bells from Nepal, in a simple, handmade, traditional design. Bells like these are hung around the necks of the cattle for practical purposes; to help the herder locate the animals and alert passers-by on their presence.
As with many other different types of bells, these ones can be used in your personal ritual and ceremonial practices. But of course they can also be used as unique wind chimes or just as a nice addition to your altar or practice space.
Please note; these bells are all original and old. They are the 'real deal'; made for purely practical purposes and used as such for decades by Nepalese yak herders. Therefore they may not be as beautiful and decorative as some of the modern replica's you may find in nowadays spiritual shops. But isn't that exactly what makes these bells all the more charming?
The bells are hung on a fabric (yak neck) strap, lined with brocade. The two bigger ones have a clapper made of yak horn, the smallest one has a clapper made of an iron nail (see detail pictures). Here are some more details:
* small, blue brocade; 134 grams, iron clapper, 10 centimeters long (including eyelet), 8 centimeters long (without eyelet), 7,5 centimeters diameter
* big, blue brocade; 294 gr, horn clapper, 16 centimeters long (including eyelet), 13 centimeters long (without eyelet), 10,5 centimeters diameter
* big, yellow brocade; 366 gr, horn clapper, 15,5 centimeters long (including eyelet), 12 centimeters long (without eyelet), 10 centimeters diameter
The bells are sold per piece. You can pick your favorite one via the selection-menu (as long as available of course).
