Old bronze phurba from Nepal. This phurba has quite some years of age to it already and shows some signs of this. But overall it is still in very good condition. Over the years, the bronze has beautifully darkened and gained some patina.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a single-headed Vajrakilaya, the main deity connected to all phurba activities. Handle: a vajra (dorje) symbol. Blade: some very minimalist decorations hinting at an abstract representation of the mythical watermonster Makara.
This phurba has a length of 20 centimeters and weighs 230 grams.
