Older necklace from Nepal with beautiful old conch shell beads. Two types of beads have been used in alternating sequence; tubular shaped beads and very large beads, on which the natural hollows, cracks and spiral shapes of the shells have been filled with a paste of grounded coral and turquoise.
This necklace has quite some years of age to it already and certainly shows some signs of this. Also it might be a good idea to re-string the beads on a new piece of cord, because its beige cotton cord seems to have become a bit frail over time (and you certainly don't want that, with such heavy-weight beads). Or of course use the beads separately in all kinds of personal crafting purposes. One such a bead is already an eyecatching centerpiece in itself!
Total length of the necklace is approximately 58 centimeters, total weight approximately 436 grams. The smaller, tubular beads are between 25-30 millimeters long and 13-15 millimeters diameter. The larger beads with gemstone paste are between 21-25 millimeters high and 25-28 millimeters diameter.
Only one available.
