In traditional shamanism, bells are used for many purposes, because they can serve as houses for spirits and their sound represents the voice of those spirits.
This large bronze bell here in our shop comes from Nepal, where it was originally made with a quite practical purpose; bells like this are hung around the necks of cattle to help the herder locate the animals and alert passers-by on their presence. This bell has been used as such for many years.
A bell with a unique history and authentic, rustique look and feel, now to be used as a house and voice for your spirits. A large bell such as this one can be used as a separate, protective amulet or for that purpose be sewn on your ritual costume or attached to your ritual attributes.
This bell is made of bronze and hand-engraved with local, Nepalese symbolism. It weighs 113 grams and measures 45 millimeters diameter (without the eyelet). This one has been made approximately 60-70 years ago and shows a beautiful aged patina.
