Old bell chain, used as a costume piece for a traditional Nepalese shaman. The iron chain carries a total of 17 old bells in different styles and sizes, most of them made of bronze, one made of iron. The bells vary in age and quality. As can be seen on the pictures, some are damaged; a testament to their long years of being actively used.
The bells vary in size between 25 - 33 millimeters diameter. Total length of the chain is approximately 96 centimeters, total weight is 720 grams. On the chain some extra / (now) empty hooks can be seen. They might have been used to attach extra bells, amulets or eerens to the chain.
