Prayerbeads: Nehalennia

NEHALENNIA 

Prayerbeads inspired by the dutch goddess Nehalennia. She is goddess of the northsea, upper and lowerworld of the dead. Goddess of abundance, with iconography of horns of plenty aswell as the dog of the dutch lowerworld. She is the protectress of those that are often at sea, ships and fishermen. She is a mothergoddess with aspects of the universal triple goddess. The Zeeuwse Knoop (Seeland Knot) is reference to Zeeland, where she has a temple in Colijnsplaat which you can still visit. There is a statue of her there which recieves offerings still up untill this day.
