Red deer winter hide and willow wood rattle
Red deer winter hide and willow wood rattle
Share
Rattle made with the winter coat hide of a red deer. This hide was acquired as scrap material from an artisan drum maker. In fact; this particular piece of hide was the very last scrap of that hide, making it not a perfect piece, a little a-symmetrical. But it wanted to be used as a rattle so strongly nevertheless, that it couldn't be ignored. In full trust it will find its perfect partner.
The rattle is filled with organic buckwheat, giving it a nice heavy sound and feel.
The wood comes from a pollard willow tree in the dutch Lowlands, and was gathered after the winter-pruning of this tree.
The rattle is decorated with purple-pink-red woolen cord and two wooden beads.
Total length of this rattle is 34 centimeters. It weighs 90 grams.
Handmade by Chyltys Kam. Unique item, only one available. Because of the slightly a-symmetrical form, the price is a little lower than usual.
