Rattle made from a forest found lower jawbone of a dutch roe deer. This bone had been lying in the woods for quite some time already and shows all the rustic traces of natural decay; some teeth are missing and little rodents have gnawed upon it to provide in their mineral supply.
The rattle has been made by stringing black lava stone beads and small white metal bells on a piece of copper colored metal wire, giving the rattle a soft tingling sound. The black & white colors of the beads and bells have been chosen to add to the dynamics that were already present in the jawbone: the body of the roe deer which has been used as sustenance for the little rodents speaks about the natural connection and balance between life and death.
This rattle may not be the prettiest one in store, but it has a profound connection to the cycles of life and every creature's place in the natural food chain.
