Vintage Nepalese rudraksha mala, made in a very simple way; the 54 beads have been loosely strung on a piece of burgundy red macrame cord, which has been closed with a simple knot (without guru bead). Because of this very simple fabrication, we would rather consider this a 'bead strand' than a wearable necklace. Therefore these beads are very good to be used in all your personal crafting or jewelry making purposes.

Rudraksha beads are categorized by the number of faces/facets that can be distinguished on the surface. These are called 'mukhi'. The beads on this strand are all 5 mukhi rudraksha. The 5 faced rudraksha bead is the most commonly used type, it represents the five forms of Lord Shiva himself. The 5 mukhi rudraksha helps in awakening one's higher self and from there the personal connection to the divine. Also, 5 mukhi rudraksha beads have a special affinity for the 5th chakra, the Visshudha or throat chakra.

The rudraksha vary in size between 14-18 millimeters diameter. Their combined length (if you were to use them all together on a necklace again) is 82 centimeters and weight is 112 grams.

Only one strand available.
