Rudraksha beads are categorized by the number of faces/facets that can be distinguished on the surface. These are called 'mukhi'. These bracelets are made with 6 mukhi rudraksha. The 6 mukhi rudraksha are associated with Lord Kartikeya, son of Shiva and Parvati, brother of Ganesha.
The 6 facets of the beads are often associated with 6 different facets of life; health, wealth, happiness, peace, knowledge and spirituality, and are thus described to have beneficial influences on all these area's. They are for example worn to increase physical health by boosting the energy level, vitality and overall sense of wellbeing. On a mental level they are said to have an overall calming effect; assisting in managing stress situations more effectively, clearing the mind of distractions and improving mental clarity, concentration and focus. On a spiritual level they assistone in transcending ordinary perceptions, thus gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their purpose in life, and connecting with one's inner self and the divine on a deeper level.
These bracelets have been recently made in Nepal and consist of 13 beads strung on elastic, transparent nylon cord. Diameter of the beads is between 15-20 millimeters and the bracelets have a size of approximately 17-18 centimeters (measured the inside loop made by the beads, and measured without stretching the elastic cord.
