Rudraksha beads are the dried seeds of the Elaeocarpus tree, an evergreen tree that grows in South-East Asia, Nepal and Australia. They are said to first have come on this earth as the crystallized tears from Lord Shiva, when he meditated on compassion for mankind. This is also exactly what the name ‘rudraksha’ means: tears of Shiva.
Since many centuries rudraksha’s are considered very sacred by hinduists and buddhists and are used in many ritualistic and meditative practices.
The seeds are drilled lengthwise, in the same direction they grew on the tree. This way the prana (lifeforce) in the bead stays intact. This energy has very good stabilizing and harmonizing effects on the body and brain activity of the one who wears the beads. They give peace, clarity and direction and protect against negative influences and harmful thoughts.
Rudraksha seeds vary in size and color, but the most important distinction is made by how many facets or segments can be distinguished on the outside, ranging from 1 to 21. These facets are called mukhi’s and each mukhi has its own meaning.
Most popular is the five-faced rudraksha, which represents Lord Shiva himself. The bracelets we offer you at SeaWolf Shop are made from these five-faced rudraksha beads.
A rudraksha bracelet can be worn on the left hand for protection, or on the right hand to invoke and increase creative and healing energy. It can be worn on daily basis for personal support, but can also be used for example in practices of meditation or prayer, for someone in particular or for the benefit of all living beings.
These five-faced rudraksha bracelets come in two different (natural) colors; light or dark.
These bracelets come to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar. They are sold per piece and you can pick your favorite variety via the selection-menu.
