Chinese shamanic mirror Dragon and Phoenix 85 millimeters

Recently made brass mirror from China with a diameter of 85 millimeters. This mirror comes to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar.

The flower-like shape of the mirror and design pattern on the backside are a replica of a motive that became widespread during the Chinese Liao Dynasty (907-1125) and is still very popular today, both in China as in Siberian and Himalayan regions. The backside shows a beautiful decoration of a dragon and a phoenix. In this combination, the dragon symbolizes the masculine and the phoenix the feminine dynamics. In their perfect union, together they symbolize duality, balance, and harmony. A mirror like this is said to especially protect the family, familyhome and marriage.
