Rattle made with an old horn from a Hungarian racka sheep. This horn is in lovely, 'vintage' condition with some damages due to its age, which we think only makes it more beautiful. To prevent the horn from further ageing, a light layer of transparent coat has been brought on.
The rattle is filled with organic buckwheat, giving it a nice heavy feel and sound.
To cover the horn, a piece of hide (with hair) from goat has been used. This hide is acquired as scrap material from an artisan drum maker.
The rattle is decorated with a colorful braid, made from 9 strands of 100% cotton in the colors green, white and grey. During the braiding, only the best of intentions and blessings were put in.
Also used for decoration is a 925 sterling silver pendant with the symbol of the tree of life, and a silver colored dragon fly. These two symbols were combined in this rattle to symbolize connection with your (bloodline and/or local) ancestors.
Total length of this rattle is approximately 22 centimeters.
