Good quality brass phurba from Tibet with nicely detailed depictions, in a small size; 10 centimeters long and 49 grams.
Design characteristics:
Pommel: a depiction of the horse-headed deity Hayagriva, who can be seen as a wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara or Amitabha. It is said that his scream is so loud and piercing that is shatters all ignorance and foolishness. Handle: a combination of the symbols of a vajra (dorje) and a srivatsa (endless knot). Blade: held by a very nice depiction of the mythical watermonster Makara.
