In many spiritual traditions, the snake holds important symbolism. It depends on the tradition whether its symbolism is associated with more positive or more negative dynamics, or even a combination of those two, because the snake spirit certainly has a very dual character.

In India for example the Naga spirits are depicted as snake-like creatures. Naga are semi-divine creatures living at the junction of the Middle and Lower Worlds. They guard water reservoirs, caves and wells, are seen as keepers of knowledge and treasures and can assist in healing too. But Naga are also well-known for their short temper and highly demanding character. They are to be treated with the utmost care and respect.

In a lot of spiritual traditions also the spirits of demons, diseases and parasites show themselves often in the form of a snake.

On the other hand, the snake is also very much associated with life force (think for example about how the Kundalini/Shakti energy is depicted as a snake, coiled up at the base of our spine) and transformation; the literal and metaphorical 'skin shedding'.

In traditional shamanism, the spirits of snakes are believed to inhabit and guard the Lower World. The recognisable long braids, ribbons or tails on the costume of a traditional shaman represent (amongst other things) these snakes.

Fun fact; discovering a piece of natural shed snake skin, is considered a good omen. Keeping this in your wallet is said to attract wealth and good luck.

These pendants are made from brass and come to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar.
Size; approximately 40 millimeters long and 24 millimeters wide. Weight: approximately 10 grams. They are nicely decorated on both the front- and the backside and can be hung on a simple cord or necklace for use as a personal amulet or be attached to your ritual clothing or attributes. Please note; these pendants don't have any specific eyelet, instead you can just adjust your cord or thread in one of the snake's coils.

Sold per piece.
