Tingsha's are a special type of small handheld cymbals, originating from Buddhist and Hinduistic traditions. The word 'tingsha' comes from Tibetan language and can be translated roughly as 'hanging cymbals'.

Nowadays the tingsha's have found their way into lots of spiritual practices. Also in the modern western world, where their sounds are for example very well known to mark the beginning or end of meditational and mindfullness practices.

Also in traditional shamanism tingsha's are often used. When the two cymbals hit each other, they produce a high-pitch sound. The vibrations of this sound are for example used to harmonize, clear and stabilize the energy in a room or within a person's energyfield. The sound can also be used in a more diagnostic way; to check the vibrations, energies or spirits in the energyfield of a room or person. Or simply to mark the beginning or end of your personal daily ritual.

These tingsha's are a simple pair made from brass, tied together with a red satin cord. They have a diameter of 9 centimeters (per cymbal) and come to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar.

Please note; the sound and vibrations of these tingsha's aren't especially high quality. But they can be a nice pair to start working with, to figure out if working with tingsha's will suit your personal practice. For that reason, the price of these tingsha's is kept reasonably low.
