Tingsha's are a special type of small handheld cymbals, originating from Buddhist and Hinduistic traditions. The word 'tingsha' comes from Tibetan language and can be translated roughly as 'hanging cymbals'.
Nowadays the tingsha's have found their way into lots of spiritual practices. Also in the modern western world, where their sounds are for example very well known to mark the beginning or end of meditational and mindfullness practices.
Also in traditional shamanism tingsha's are often used. When the two cymbals hit each other, they produce a high-pitch sound. The vibrations of this sound are for example used to harmonize, clear and stabilize the energy in a room or within a person's energyfield. The sound can also be used in a more diagnostic way; to check the vibrations, energies or spirits in the energyfield of a room or person. Or simply to mark the beginning or end of your personal daily ritual.
This set comes from vintage origin. It has quite some years of age and usage to it already, which of course means there might be some little scratches and minor damages on them by now. But overall, these tingsha's are in very good condition; they are made from a good quality bronze and have a very nice, warm, melodious and harmonious sound. They are decorated with important buddhist symbols.
The cymbals are tied together with a yak leather cord, buth this cord is not in very good condition anymore, so it might be a good idea to tie them on a new cord or beautiful colored braid. Think about doing this in a ritual way; this can be a great way to welcome them into your home and consecrate them to your spiritual practice.
Each cymbal has a diameter of 70 millimeters. Together they weigh 328 grams.
Only one set available.
