Very nice bronze incense burner, from vintage origin.
This incense burner is modelled in the shape of a lotus leaf, with three little frogs crawling up the side. Both the frog and the lotus leaf hold important symbolism in many different spiritual traditions.
Since the frog seemingly disappears into the mud on the riverbottom each winter and then comes back to life only when spring has arrived, in its symbolism it's often associated with death and rebirth, transformation and being a guide to the Lower World.
Also the lotus leaf adds to this symbolism. Growing from the muddy depths to the surface of the water, where it blossoms into the most beautiful flower. The lotus symbolizes spiritual growth and rebirth, the transformation from darkness to light and purity.
This bronze incense burner has a lovely, almost copper-like color and shine. It weighs a heavy 806 grams. Sizes are approximately; 8,5 centimeters high, 13 centimeters diameter (measured at the broadest area, inlcuding the frog ornaments) and 8,5 centimeters diameter at the opening.
Use incense burners such as this one by filling it with sand, rice or little stones before placing your incense sticks or cones in it.
Only one available.
