Set of two small dutch earthenware bottles, made to contain jenever from the famous dutch distillery Bols in Amsterdam.

The stamps on the bottles say: "Erven Lucas Bols. Het Lootsje. Amsterdam".  According to the company itself, the history of the distillery can be traced back to the year 1575, when the house at the Rozengracht in Amsterdam was purchased and used to start a small distillery in. In 1649 this house was given the name "Het Lootsje", and the distillery increased its production and fame in the hands of subsequent generations of the Bols family, with Lucas Bols being the most succesfull one during the 2nd half of the 17th and early 18th century.

These small bottles could be very nice items to place on your altar for a connection with your dutch roots. For example to place some flowers in, or as holders for candles or incense.

The bottles are 11,8 centimeters high and 3,5 centimeters wide. The diameter of the hole at the top is 1,3 centimeters.

This set consists of 2 bottles, differing slightly in color. One is more terracotta-brown, one more light-brown. The terracotta-colored one has a minor damage (a small chip near the stamp, as can be seen on the pictures), otherwise they are both in vintage but good condition.

Sold per set of 2 bottles. Only one set available.
