Very nice Tibetan silver pendants, from vintage origin (approximately 1980-1990).
The center of these pendants is formed by a red copper dome engraved with the Lo Shu square (or Nine Halls diagram); this diagram is nowadays especially known as an important emblem in Feng Shui, but derives from ancient Chinese mathematical and divination traditions. It is connected with the system of Ba Gua (8 trigrams), which form the core of the I Tjing.
The trigrams represent different dynamics, energies, cardinal points, animals, seasons etc. On these mirrors, the 8 of them together, forming a circle, symbolizes heavenly order, a healthy balance and right flow of energy.
The trigram symbols come from very ancient origin; they derive from symbols found on ancient Chinese divination bones dating back as long as 11th century BCE. A similar version of bone oracle is still used today by Turkic and Mongolian people, and also in the lineage of Spirit of Wolf Shamanism; 'Kazhiki'.
The pendants are further decorated with an inlay of small turquoise and coral colored stones. Total length (including the eyelet is approximately 3,5 centimeters. And 2 centimeters wide. Weight is approximately 6 grams.
These pendants are from vintage origin and might therefore have some little damages and imperfections that naturally come with age and previous usage.
