Vintage Tibetan necklace made with yak bone beads/pendants on black macrame cord.
The beads/pendants are handcarved with the Tibetan Buddhist Eight Auspicious Symbols. Since ancient times, symbols of good fortune have been established in the iconography of Hinduism and Buddhism. The group of eight symbols known in Tibetan Buddhism as the "Eight Auspicious Symbols" is considered one of the oldest. This group consists of: the Pair of Golden Fish, the Precious Parasol, the Vase of Treasures, the Lotus Flower, the Conch Shell, the Infinite Knot, the Wheel of Dharma, and the Banner of Victory. The symbols can be found on for example statues, paintings, jewelry, amulets, furniture, textiles and home decorations. The symbols are used both seperately and as a group.
This necklace is from vintage origin and because of that and the 100% natural origin of the beads, of course some little damages and imperfections can be seen.
The cord closes with a sliding knot, so can be adjusted to fit your personal favorite length.
