Vintage wooden wallhanger with a combination of the Sun and Moon. This wallhanger comes from Nepal and is influenced by Hinduist cosmology; the Sun is thus depicted with facial features as the Vedic sungod Surya, in the old Hindu writings also referred to as 'the jewel of the sky'. Surya is both this ancient God of the Sun as the Sun itself and can also be seen as a representation of the element Fire, specifically the heavenly equivalent of the earthly Fire element Agni.
And of course the Sun is a very important great spirit in many more spiritual traditions. Also in traditional shamanism, the great spirit of the Sun with its enormous power is considered of the utmost importance.
In this wallhanger, the Sun is combined with its balancing counterpart; the Moon. Together they symbolize a perfect union and harmony between opposite, yet equally important and each other complementing dynamics.
This wallhanger comes from Nepal and is from vintage origin. It shows some signs of its age and previous usage, but overall it is in good condition. The wood has been varnished in a warm red-brown color. It is approximately 28,5 centimeters wide and 27,5 centimeters high. It will certainly do great in your altar space or practice room.
Only one available.
