Wild boar hide and roe deer leg bone rattle
Wild boar hide and roe deer leg bone rattle
Share
Rattle made with rawhide from a wild boar, acquired as scrap material from an artisan drum maker. The hide used for this rattle is a very nice, rough piece in which the roots from the boar's hair can be seen and felt.
The rattle is constructed with a leg bone from a dutch roe deer deer as handle. This leg bone has been found in the Dutch Veluwe-region and had probably been lying there for a long time already; you can see how it's complety sun-bleached and sun-dried. It is filled with organic buckwheat, giving it a nice heavy feel and sound.
The rattle is decorated with a braid, made with 9 strands of cotton in violet and blue colors. During the braiding, only the best of intentions and blessings were put in.
Total length of this rattle is 25 centimeters. It weighs 84 grams.
Handmade by Chyltys Kam. Every rattle is a unique item.
