Collection: Dzi Beads

One day the magnificent dzi beads came down from the sky. No one knows exactly where they landed, but they made their way to the people.

What we know now about the magical dzi beads comes mostly from Tibetan philosophy and some European esoteric influences, but, to be very honest; also a lot is still unknown nowadays.

Dzi beads are amulets, mostly made from agate and often with symbols etched in them. They are said to be 'beetles from heaven', sent down by the gods to the human world to help, protect and bring prosperity. Every dzi bead is unique and has different meanings depending on the symbols upon it.

Some dzi beads are incredibly old and rare. But nowadays of course also a lot are made in less expensive ways (for example by painting the symbols instead of etching them), so a wider public can enjoy their workings.

Here in our shop you can find both the older and rarer dzi beads as the more common ones. Both vintage ones with a rustique appearance due to previous usage, as brand new ones, waiting for you to be their first owner.

For our knowledge on dzi beads we rely heavily on the immense expertise of Karagai Kam, not only the founder of Spirit of Wolf, the traditional shamanic lineage we work in, but also one of the worlds most prominents collectors and experts on dzi beads. For now, courses and lectures from his hand are only offered in Russian language. In the future this will also be made available more internationally.
